I just started reading the Onion again and I am reminded of how much I love it....

Le Tour....

Life has been a bit of a rat race as of late. I am now a year older. The boy and I started looking for houses again. We have a puppy. I was home sick one day last week and then on Friday the old work PC gave me the blue screen of death and then crashed into oblivion. One of my hard drives was "hosed" to quote the IT guy. So, I spent Friday, Monday, and Tuesday working at home which was AWESOME. There is something to be said for drinking coffee out of a coffee cup instead of a thermos, working in my pajamas until about 11 am, having the pups sleep at the foot of my chair, and unlimited snacks that makes a home office really appealing. Nevertheless, I am back in my office.

That being said, the Tour de France starts tomorrow and I cant wait. This guarantees me good television for the next two weeks. I really LOVE watching the tour. I love it so much that I have tried to convince the boy that we need to take a European trip complete organized around seeing the Tour in various places. I watch it religiously and always think that it will kick start my drive to ride more frequently than I do. Nine times out of ten that works for about a week and then fades into the distance. Still, I watch it every year. I wake up really early so I can see a bit of it before work. I get really excited every day to see what I Tivoed. I force the boy to watch it and he deals with me as I run around the house freaking out about how exciting it is. I talk about it in bars to people who could care less. I basically freak out for two weeks. It's fun and I look forward to it every year. So brace yourselves. You have two more weeks of this rambling to listen to and I will hear no complaining.
